FaceFinder – Privacy Policy

Summary: FaceFinder is a privacy-first application. All facial analysis and matching occur entirely on your device. No images or facial data are ever uploaded to a server or shared with the developer.
1. Information Collection
The App does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. We do not have access to your camera feed, the photos you select, or the people you identify.
2. Face Data Handling (Mandatory Apple Disclosure)
In accordance with Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines, we provide the following details regarding Face Data:
- No Collection: The App does not collect or capture facial data for identification of a specific individual beyond the active session.
- Temporary Processing: Facial information (embeddings) is generated locally in the device's volatile memory and is used only to compare similarity in real-time.
- No Retention: These mathematical representations are discarded immediately when the App is closed or the target photo is removed. We do not store biometric identifiers.
- No Third-Party Sharing: No face data is ever shared with third parties or transmitted off the device.
3. Local Storage and User Control
The App may save snapshots (screenshots) based on your settings:
- Snapshots are stored locally in the App's private sandbox memory.
- The user has full control to view, delete individually, or clear the entire history ("Delete All").
- Automatic Cleanup: To protect your device storage, the App will automatically delete older snapshots once the 1GB limit is reached.
- Sharing: If you use the "Share" function, you are manually initiating the transfer of a local file to a third-party app (e.g., Telegram, Email). The App does not perform this automatically.
4. Payments and Subscriptions
The App offers Premium features via In-App Purchases. All transactions are processed securely by Apple via StoreKit. We do not collect or store your credit card information or billing details.
5. Legal Compliance and User Responsibility
Compliance with Laws: Laws regarding facial recognition, privacy, and photography vary by jurisdiction. By using FaceFinder, you represent and warrant that:
- You will use the App only for lawful purposes.
- You have obtained all necessary consents from individuals before identifying them, where required by local law (e.g., BIPA in Illinois, GDPR in the EU).
- You will not use the App for surreptitious surveillance or in any manner that violates the privacy rights of others.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties (Liability)
FaceFinder is provided "AS IS". Facial matching is a probability-based technology. The App may produce "false positives" or "false negatives."
The developer shall not be liable for any legal consequences, damages, or disputes arising from the use of this App, including but not limited to privacy violations or identification errors by the user.
